Take It to the Next Level

Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced birder, Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology has courses to improve your knowledge and skills. If you’re new to the hobby, perhaps start with “The Joy of Birding” and progress to courses in bird behavior, bird songs, sparrow identification, or a full course in ornithology.

If you’re looking to improve your bird awareness while reducing your daily stress outdoors, you’ll enjoy the daily birding challenges offered by Ornitherapy.

National Audubon reviewed the 10 most popular birding podcasts.

Where are some great places to go birding and meet other birders? The magazine Bird Watcher’s Digest has advice and listings of birding festivals to enjoy, we hope, soon.

Probably the best way to take your birding to the next level is to think of ways you can help the birds you’ve grown to love. Donating to ASCM and other conservation organizations is a great idea. You can also work to make your home, yard, and neighborhood more friendly.
