Audubon Society of Central Maryland advances National Audubon's mission to protect birds and the places they need, today and tomorrow, through conservation projects at our wildlife sanctuaries and through education,
community science, and advocacy initiatives throughout our chapter territory.
We welcome your help.

World Migratory Bird Day & ASCM Birdathon Start May 9!

Help Protect Birds and Their Habitats

Every spring, World Migratory Bird Day celebrates the awe-inspiring journeys of birds as they travel across continents, connecting habitats and people worldwide. Yet, these remarkable travelers face challenges from shrinking habitats, climate change, and pollution.

From May 9th-30th, ASCM invites you to honor bird resilience by joining our Birdathon fundraising campaign.

Every dollar goes 100% to safeguarding the 270 acres across ASCM’s two central Maryland sanctuaries—critical stopover and breeding sites for migratory birds. And your donation will enable ASCM to continue to educate communities and government officials about the critical importance of bird conservation.

Every contribution matters! Make this World Migratory Bird Day a turning point for conservation. Your donation is tax-deductible. Every donation of $200+ will receive an ASCM ball cap! Thank you for standing with us to protect the birds we cherish.

These declining species migrate to ASCM sanctuaries to breed in our optimized habitats.

Spring is Spectacular at Our Sanctuaries!

ASCM is the steward of two wildlife sanctuaries comprised of 270 acres in Frederick County.  These oases of biodiversity are carefully managed to support our Mission — to protect and restore birds, other wildlife, and their habitats. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the beauty and serenity of being in nature.
