The Audubon Society of Central Maryland will sponsor a Bob Schaefer Series Nature Walk at the Fred Archibald Audubon Sanctuary in New Market. See and identify the many fall migrant birds that use this beautiful sanctuary. Among sparrows alone, there’s a good chance of seeing Song, Field, Swamp, White‐throated, White‐crowned, Chipping and Lincoln’s Sparrows, as well as Dark‐eyed Juncos. We are also likely are Ruby‐crowned Kinglets feeding in the Goldenrod, and Palm Warblers, wagging their tails in nearby trees.
People of all ages are welcome. Meet at 9 a.m. at the Sanctuary entrance, on the east side of Boyer’s Mill Road, one mile north of Rte. 144, in New Market. Wear sturdy shoes and bring binoculars if you have them. No restroom facilities. The walk will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.
