Saturday, August 17 9 to 11 a.m., the Audubon Society of Central Maryland will hold a Bob Schaefer Nature Walk at the Fred J. Archibald Audubon Sanctuary. Birds are mostly quiet at this time of year, but butterflies and dragonflies are very active and are easily observed at close range.
People of all ages are welcome. Meet at the sanctuary entrance at 9 a.m. The sanctuary entrance is on the east side of Boyer’s Mill Road, just one mile north of Rte. 144 in New Market. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, and bring a hat and sunscreen. No restroom facilities. The walk will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.
