Join ASCM for a fun family day of monarchs and community science at our Audrey Carroll Sanctuary.
See monarch butterflies up close as we tag them to help Monarch Watch scientists learn more about this butterfly's extraordinary migration and conservation status. These amazing creatures will fly 2,000 miles to overwinter in central Mexico. Children will be able to learn more about the life cycle of the monarch and participate in a fun craft.
People of all ages are welcome. Meet at 9 a.m. at the entry gate to the sanctuary at 13030 Old Annapolis Road (just east of Detrick Road) in Mt. Airy. The walk will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. Questions? Contact Cheryl Farfaras.
We are currently seeking sponsors for our monarch tagging. Learn how you can support monarch conservation with a sponsorship and the benefits we are offering business partners.
